This Thanksgiving season, Mountaineer Country is offering events for people of all ages to celebrate the holiday. Visit a crafts fairs and get your holiday shopping done early. Find local feasts full of fall flavors and Appalachian pride. With events happening almost every day, there’s so much to be thankful for in Mountaineer Country!
All Thanksgiving Events
Save room for seconds! Head out to Reedsville for the November Cozy Dinner hosted by Modern Homestead at Tathams on November 21. With each dish thoughtfully prepared with seasonal ingredients, you’ll feel at home in Appalachia in each bite. Reservations are required, so please call ahead!
Too much turkey? Begin your Thanksgiving morning with the Morgantown Running 5k Turkey Trot at the WVU Track. Races start at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 26. Each participant will receive a pair of socks for taking part in the event.
This year, make Thanksgiving dessert a piece of cake—or maybe a pie! Order from the Terra Cafe Fall/Thanksgiving Bakery menu and receive a fresh, made-to-order baked good that is sure to please. Orders must be placed before Saturday, November 21, with a minimum of 72-hour notice of desired pickup.

Support your local community on Small Business Saturday, November 28 in Downtown Morgantown. While you shop, enjoy free parking from the Morgantown Parking Authority.
Taking a break from cooking Thanksgiving dinner this year or want a change of scenery? Check out the locations below and start planning your feast! Many of these locations require reservations, so make sure to make accommodations in advance.
Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place
Bourbon Prime at the Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place will be offering Thanksgiving Dinner To Go Packages available for pickup starting Wednesday, November 25 between Noon and 5PM. Packages are $125 each and feed between 4-6 people. The dinner includes slow-roasted sliced turkey breast, gravy, stuffing, potatoes, green bean casserole, orange cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. Need more yum? Ask about A La Carte Items! All Dinners must be ordered by Noon on Monday, November 23.
Marilyn’s of Morgantown
Marilyn’s of Morgantown invites you to gather with them for Thanksgiving Dinner. Enjoy your favorites from heir full menu along with some special Thanksgiving Day features. Reservations preferred.
The Winchester of Morgantown
The Winchester of Morgantown, Located at Holiday Inn Morgantown – University Area, will be offering a Thanksgiving Buffet from 11AM to 8PM on November 26, Thanksgiving day. The buffet will include a turkey carving station, honey glazed ham, salad, homemade stuffing, desserts and so much more! The buffet is all you can eat, but reservations are required.
Preston County Inn
If you’re craving everything from the traditional turkey and gravy, to butternut squash soup, assorted seasonal salads, fresh-baked bread and pies, head to Preston County Inn for a 3-course, hand-served dinner, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Thanksgiving Day. Hill & Hollow
Order your Thanksgiving dinner to-go from Hill & Hollow for a feast full of Appalachian flavor! A single order contains an entire roast turkey with apple walnut stuffing, baked corn and cheddar pudding, a thrice-backed potato casserole, and a sweet potato pie with brown sugar sorghum glaze. Preorder your feast via email so that it’s ready for pick up on Thanksgiving Day.
Sargasso of Morgantown
Don’t wait to place your Thanksgiving To-Go order from Sargasso of Morgantown. Choose from your favorites from the A La Carte menu or pick a Family Style packages that include roasted turkey breast, glazed ham, sauteed green beans, house rolls and a pumpkin roll with eggnog creme anglaise. All orders must be placed by noon on Monday, November 23. To-Go Orders can be picked up between 11AM and 3PM on Thanksgiving Day.
All your favorites are ready for pick-up at the Cracker Barrel of Morgantown, located in the University Town Centre. Go online, or call ahead to order your Thanksgiving Hot and Ready Family Dinner, available for pickup starting Saturday, November 11. This dinner includes turkey n’dressing with gravy, sugar-cured ham, cranberry relish, country green beans, macaroni n’cheese, and your choice of an additional side.
Pre-order a Thanksgiving Feast from Leonard’s Grill in Grafton, WV. The feast includes one main meat dish, three sides and four rolls—enough to feed four to five people! Don’t forget your pumpkin pie, available for other a la carte. Order through Monday, November 23 to schedule your pick-up on Wednesday, November 25.
Alpine Lake Resort
Join Alpine Lake Resort in Preston County, WV for Thanksgiving Day Plated Meals, served between 1PM and 3PM. Want to stay in?
