Fall Fun, Festive Feasts and So Many Reasons to Be Thankful!

This Thanksgiving season, Mountaineer Country is offering events for people of all ages to celebrate the holiday. Visit crafts fairs and get your holiday shopping done early. Find local feasts full of fall flavors and Appalachian pride. With events happening almost every day, there’s so much to be thankful for in Mountaineer Country!

All Thanksgiving Events

Save room for seconds! Head out to Reedsville for the November Cozy Dinner hosted by Modern Homestead at Tathams on November 20. With each dish thoughtfully prepared with seasonal ingredients, you’ll feel at home in Appalachia in each bite. Reservations are required, so please call ahead!

Too much turkey? Begin your Thanksgiving morning with the Morgantown Running 5k Turkey Trot at the WVU Track. Races start at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 25. Each participant will receive a pair of socks for taking part in the event.

Thanksgiving Dinner

Taking a break from cooking Thanksgiving dinner this year or want a change of scenery? Check out the locations below and start planning your feast! Many of these locations require reservations, so make sure to make accommodations in advance.

Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place

Bourbon Prime at the Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place will be hosting a Thanksgiving Dinner in the Platinum Ball Room. The in-person dinner will take place from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Tickets are $30 per person, plus tax and gratuity, $30 for veterans and seniors and $15 for children ages 6 – 12.

Bourbon Prime is also offering a Thanksgiving To-Go option for $135 plus tax. Dinners serve 4-6 people. All to-go orders must be ordered by Noon on Monday, November 22 – to-go orders are available for pickup on Thanksgiving Day from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Marilyn’s of Morgantown

Marilyn’s of Morgantown invites you to gather with them for Thanksgiving Dinner from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Enjoy your favorites from their full menu, along with some special Thanksgiving Day features. Reservations preferred.

Preston County Inn

If you’re craving everything from the traditional turkey and gravy to butternut squash soup, green bean casserole and delicious pies, head to Preston County Inn for a 4-course, hand-served dinner, beginning at 11 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Rising Creek Bakery

Don’t forget to stop by or call to place your Thanksgiving day orders. All orders must be placed by November 19th for pickup at our Mt. Morris location on Tues. the 23rd or Wed. the 24th.

Sargasso of Morgantown

Don’t wait to place your Thanksgiving Dine-In or Take-Out order from Sargasso of Morgantown. Guests can dine-in from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day – the menu will include oven-roasted turkey breast, honey glazed ham, sage stuffing, classic mashed potatoes and more. Reservations can be made by calling 304-554-0100.

Guests can also opt for the curbside family-style or a la carte to-go options – check out the menu here. Orders must be placed and prepaid by noon on Friday, November 19.

Cracker Barrel

All your favorites are ready for pickup at the Cracker Barrel of Morgantown, located in the University Town Centre. Go online, or call ahead to order your Heat and Serve Thanksgiving Family Dinner – available between November 20 and 27.

Leonard’s Grill

Pre-order a Thanksgiving Feast from Leonard’s Grill in Grafton, WV. The feast includes one main meat dish, three sides and four rolls—enough to feed four to six people! Don’t forget your pumpkin pie, available a la carte. Order through Monday, November 15 for November 19 pickup or through Sunday, November 21 for Wednesday, November 24 pickup.

Alpine Lake Resort

Join Alpine Lake Resort in Preston County, WV for an Alpine Thanksgiving To-Go. With two options – the full Holiday Tray or items a la carte – guests can purchase the curated meal or individual dishes from Alpine Lake Resort. Order online by Saturday, November 20.

The Tea Shoppe

Call today to reserve one of our Holiday Catering Platters or order form the full catering menu for deliciously paired teas, deserts, and savory snacks. Orders must be placed by Saturday, November 20 by 5pm, and pickup on Tuesday 11/23 or Wednesday 11/24 for Thanksgiving. Please call us at 304-413-0890, during business hours, to place your orders. Terra Cafe

Everyone can enjoy a festive holiday dessert this year thanks to gluten-free desserts and more from Terra Cafe. Holiday ordering is now available. Each dessert is made with locally-sourced ingredients and packaged with care.

Mountain People’s Co-Op

Pre-order a pie from the Venerable Bean Bakery today to have in time for the holidays. Choose between vegan, gluten-free options for classic pumpkin, crisp apple pie, decadent chocolate truffle pie, and more!

Smokin’ Country’s BBQ Pit

Join Smokin’ Country’s BBQ Pit on Thanksgiving from Noon to 5PM for a traditional Thanksgiving meal. This holiday menu includes savory turkey with homemade noodles, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, sweet potato casserole, rolls, and dessert. Anyone is welcome to attend.
