Fall Fun, Festive Feasts and So Many Reasons to Be Thankful!

This Thanksgiving season, Mountaineer Country is offering events for people of all ages to celebrate the holiday. Visit crafts fairs and get your holiday shopping done early. Find local feasts full of fall flavors and Appalachian pride. With events happening almost every day, there’s so much to be thankful for in Mountaineer Country!

All Thanksgiving Events

Save room for seconds! Head out to Reedsville for the November Cozy Dinner hosted by Modern Homestead at Tathams on November 26. With each dish thoughtfully prepared with seasonal ingredients, you’ll transport to Louisiana as you munch on their New Orleans-themed menu. Reservations are required, so please call ahead!

Too much turkey? Begin your Thanksgiving morning with the Morgantown Running 5k Turkey Trot at the blue track by the WVU Coliseum. Races start at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 24. Up to 400 participants will receive a pair of socks for taking part in the event.

Thanksgiving Dinner

Taking a break from cooking Thanksgiving dinner this year or want a change of scenery? Check out the locations below and start planning your feast! Many of these locations require reservations, so make sure to make accommodations in advance.

Vanessa’s Kitchen

Give Mom and Grandma a break and head to Vanessa’s Kitchen to get your fill of delicious Thanksgiving food! The meal will be served family style and will take place from 12 p.m. – 7 p.m. on November  24.  It will be served family style. The Thanksgiving feast is $20 for kids ages 5-12 and $45 for adults. Reservations are preferred and can be made by calling or texting 681-209-2577.

Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place

Bourbon Prime at the Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place will be hosting a Thanksgiving Dinner with a full buffet and an al a carte menu. The in-person dinner will take place from 11:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Tickets are $40 per person, plus tax and gratuity, $32 for seniors, and $20 for children ages 6 – 12. Call to make your reservations!

Marilyn’s of Morgantown

Let Marilyn’s of Morgantown cook for you this Thanksgiving! Their reservations for Thanksgiving Dinner are now open, call them at 304.841.5193 to reserve your spot today. Enjoy your favorites from their full menu, along with some special Thanksgiving Day features. Reservations preferred.

Sargasso of Morgantown

Don’t wait to place your Thanksgiving Dine-In or Take-Out order from Sargasso of Morgantown. Guests can dine-in from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day – the buffet menu will include oven-roasted turkey breast, honey-glazed ham, sage stuffing, classic mashed potatoes, and more. Reservations need to be made by calling 304-554-0100.

Guests can also opt for the curbside family-style or a la carte to-go options – check out the menu here. Orders must be placed and prepaid by noon on Friday, November 18.

Cracker Barrel

All your favorites are ready for pickup at the Cracker Barrel of Morgantown, located in the University Town Centre. Go online, or call ahead to order your Heat and Serve Thanksgiving Family Dinner – available for pick up on November 21 and 22.

Leonard’s Grill

Leonards’s Grill in Grafton, WV is offering two options for Thanksgiving dinner this year! Pre-order a family-style Thanksgiving Feast or their new Build Your Own Plate option so you can customize your dinner. The feast includes one main meat dish, three sides, and four rolls—enough to feed four to six people for a flat rate (you can add more)! The BYO option allows you to select a variety of different sides for different prices. Don’t forget your pumpkin pie and other Thanksgiving desserts, available a la carte. Order and pre-pay through Friday, November 18 online or in person, to guarantee your choices 

Alpine Lake Resort

Join Alpine Lake Resort in Preston County, WV for a Thanksgiving To-Go. With two options – the full Thanksgiving Dinner that serves 4-5 people or items a la carte – guests can reserve the curated meal or individual dishes by emailing [email protected] with your order and preferred pick-up time. 

Up with Tunnleton

Eat, drink, and be thankful this holiday season with Up with Tunnleton! They are hosting a free Thanksgiving feast at the Tunnleton VFW on November 24 at 1 p.m. with dine-in or take-out options available, as well as delivery to those who are homebound. All are invited to join in on the festivities!

The Tea Shoppe

Call today to reserve one of their Holiday Catering Platters or order from the full catering menu for deliciously paired teas, desserts, and savory snacks.
