Morgantown Service League will hold their annual Scholastic Book Fair from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, July 9, Arts Walk Saturday, in front of their retail shop, The Old Stone House, located at 313 Chestnut St.

The sale starts online Friday, July 8 and runs through Friday, July 15 on the Scholastic Book Fair website. Patrons can find the Service League Book Fair, and a percentage of their online purchases will go toward the Service League school library funding.

Over the past 87 years, Service League has donated more than $82,000 toward books and media supplies to all Mon County K-12 school libraries. Profits from this sale will go toward that funding.

Founded in 1935, Service League of Morgantown’s mission has been to give back to their local community to improve the lives of local citizens to improve the lives of local citizens through charitable, educational and cultural activities. The league has given more than $421,692 back to the Morgantown community. This includes more than $26,000 to the Morgantown Public Library, approximately $82,537 toward books for Mon County School libraries, and more than $313,155 to other charitable donations throughout Monongalia County.

The Old Stone House was built around 1795 and is the oldest stone dwelling in the county. It is listed on the National Historic Registry, and houses the league’s retail décor and gift shop.
