One Remarkable Destination for Sports Tournaments
Mountaineer Country’s recreational crown jewel unlike any you’ve ever seen. This magnificent sports complex sits on 400 acres and boasts 14 different indoor and outdoor facilities that are only rivaled by a canvas backdrop known as the Appalachian Mountains. This purpose-built sports destination encompasses 60 acres of premium athletic field space and more than 180,000 sq. ft. of indoor sport, recreation, and event venues. Regional and national tournaments, as well as adult and youth league teams, are hosted year-round. Each component of the park is unique and serves to ensure that there is something for everyone, truly a place the entire community can enjoy.
The Aquatic and Track Complex at Mylan Park is affiliated with the great sporting tradition of West Virginia University, a collegiate playground for legends that include Jerry West, Sam Huff and Hot Rod Hundley. Today, the park is the home to WVU’s swimming and diving, cross country and track and field teams.
The park is easily accessible just 1 mile from Interstate-79 and 75 miles from Pittsburgh.

The Mylan Park Aquatic Center is an impressive state-of-the-art, and fully accessible 90,000-square-foot facility featuring an unrivaled competition pool and diving well. The 50-meter Olympic pool and diving well feature movable bulkhead that can be configured for short- or long-course. The six-lane diving well also boasts a full array of platforms and springboards and holds over 750,000 gallons of water. With the 1,500 spectator seats, 17 – 21 feet of tiled pool deck space, direct access to multi-purpose classrooms and locker rooms, and a top-of-the-line Colorado Time scoreboard and timing system, this facility is truly unique to the region.
The Aquatic Center at Mylan Park hosts Big 12 Conference Swimming and Diving Championships, AAU Diving, USA Diving and WVSSAC High School Swim Tournaments.

Mylan Park’s state-of-the-art prefabricated, synthetic Mondo Super-X surface is composed of two different vulcanized layers for a continuous, seamless piece of material. This gives runners the optimum blend of comfort, safety, energy and durability and is ideal for both competition and training purposes.
The eight-lane complex features four long-jump and triple-jump pits, LED stadium lighting, steeple chase, and several throw areas for javelin/shot put and discus. The complex is also fitted with a top-of-the-line timing system, cameras, and video scoreboard, all set against a backdrop of stunning mountain views.
The state-of-the-art Track and Field Complex is lined for both high school and collegiate competitions, with seating for over 2,000 spectators and plenty of on-site parking.
Cross Country Course
The Cross Country Course at Mylan Park is continuously being upgraded with athletes in mind to ensure a unique and rewarding experience. With the starting point being on a large flat area that can fit a number of athletes, this course is perfect for meets and provides a great viewing location for spectators. The paths on this course have been seeded with grass to allow quality footing with few sharp turns on mountainous terrain. Mylan Park always considers how athletes will feel so the Cross Country Course is designed to be safe, well-defined, routed, and space appropriate for all athletes. Plus, no one can complain about the amazing mountain views that runners take in as they compete or train!
Hazel & J.W. Ruby Community Center Sports Complex
The newly renovated Hazel & J.W. Ruby Community Center Sports Complex has the capacity for five basketball courts, five volleyball courts, five futsal courts or 13 pickleball courts. This state-of-the-art space provides instruction, open recreation, camps, leagues and tournaments that attract local, regional, and national interest. Outside of sporting, the complex is equipped to accommodate two events at the same time with over one acre of indoor exhibit space. The expo center is equipped to help produce a successful event with on-site parking, cable TV/high-speed wireless internet, a large lobby space, an event office and outdoor event space, and a quality house sound system.
As the largest expo center between Charleston and Pittsburgh, The Hazel & J.W. Ruby Community Center was designed to be a place for the community and tourists to localize and frequent.
