This fall is filled with endless activities! From decorating your house in vibrant reds, yellows, and oranges, to carving pumpkins, shopping for candy, or finally breaking out the costume you’ve been waiting to wear this year —the fall season is always a good time in Mountaineer Country!

Thursday, October 20

Ridge Kids Trunk Bash

Grab all the candy you can get this year starting early at Ridge Kids Trunk Bash at Chestnut Ridge Church in Morgantown. Wear your most creative costume and bring your friends and family, and enjoy some free fun all evening long. The event will be held rain or shine, so be sure to bring an umbrella weather permitting.

Downtown Morgantown Haunted Walk

Experience the dark history of Morgantown dating beyond its college glory days during one of the six Haunted Walks at the second annual event. The walking tour is 45 minutes long and will begin and end at Hotel Morgan with stops around Downtown Morgantown along the way. Learn about the historic Civil War and its victims beyond the grave who have decided to stick around, and more. All ticket sales are $25 and benefit Main Street Morgantown, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Saturday, October 22

Morgantown Ag Fall Fest

If you’re looking for classic fall fun activities, this is the event to go to. Pick out your pumpkin to decorate, and paint your heart out, or meet some adorable cats up for adoption looking for their forever home this spooky season. Take a ride on a horse-drawn wagon, check out delicious fresh fruit from Mon County FFA, and find your new favorite fall décor all at the Morgantown Ag Fall Fest.

Saturday, October 22

2022 Fall Festival at Trinity Christian School

From inflatables to petting zoos, the Fall Festival at Trinity Christian School has it all this Halloween season. Compete in carnival games, find the perfect gifts from craft vendors, munch on food and pick your face painting. Free admission for children 2 years old and younger. This event is $10 for single admission or $40 for family, redeemable for 4 or more immediate family members and tickets will be available for pre-order beginning Oct. 3 and should be purchased before noon Monday, Oct. 17, to be entered into a drawing for 4 swim passes to the Aquatic Center at Mylan Park.

Saturday, October 22

Champion Training Academy Trunk-or-Treat

A spooky fun time awaits at Champion Training Academy’s Trunk-or-Treat with ample activities. Satisfy your sweet tooth with cotton candy straight from the machine, or take a stroll around the lot picking out candy before learning the classic Thriller dance. That’s not all, there will also be a bouncy house to jump out that sugar energy and a form pit and ropes to explore.

Sunday, October 23

Trunk-or-Treat – Mountaineer Area Council

It’s all treats and no tricks at this trunk-or-treat event. Give back to the community by bringing a canned food item to donate to a local organization before grabbing candy for yourself. While a donation is not required, it is always appreciated. Family, friends, ghosts, and ghouls alike are welcome at this evening full of free fun, mayhem, and mischief.

Sunday, October 23

Marina Trunk or Treat 

Come out and show support at the Tygart Lake Marina for their first Trunk or Treat event. Trunk or Treating begins at 3 p.m. and set up begins at 2 p.m., if you are unable to set up a “Trunk” they are accepting donations of candy, novelty treats for children of all ages, cookies for our Foundation table or monetary donations. All can be dropped off at the Lodge front desk. Volunteers are also needed to help. Costumes are optional but encouraged!

Wednesday, October 26

Suncrest Towne Centre Trick-or-Treat

Start trick-or-treating early at Suncrest Towne Centre! Wear your favorite Halloween costume, pick out your favorite candy and show off a face painting from Paint Me Pretty all at this evening of fun.

Thursday, October 27

Business Trick or Treat in Kingwood

It’s time to round up the young ones for Kingwood’s Business Trick or Treat! Hop from business to business to gather as much candy as your heart desires at this spooktacular event. This event is free to the public, so come together and meet other locals at this evening of scary fun.

Friday, October 28

Granville Halloween Festival

Come out for an evening of free fun at the Halloween Festival hosted by the Town of Granville, the Granville Police Department & Granville Fire Department! Trick-or-treating at Granville Park will occur from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. followed by the Halloween Festival. Activities are for children 12 years old and under. Candy donations may be dropped off at Granville Town Hall.

Friday, October 28

Howl-O-Ween Doggie Trick or Treat at the West Virginia Botanic Garden

Don’t let your pup miss out on the fun this Halloween season, Howl-O-Ween Doggie Trick or Treat is ready for your four-legged friend at West Virginia Botanic Garden. Bring them out on a leash for dog trick-or-treat to win a prize for best-dressed pooch and bring your own bag to gather treats for them. All dogs must be cleaned up after, well-behaved dogs are preferred.

Spooky Sprint 5k Run/Walk

Discipline can be difficult this time of year, don’t let your progress slip! Stay active with friends, family, and neighbors alike at the Spooky Spring 5k Run/Walk at Hazel Ruby McQuain Park. Sponsored by WVU Medicine, this event’s proceeds benefit Preston Counties’ 2022 Campaign and United Way of Monongalia. Registration is open until October 14 and costs $50 for this event. Participants will receive a running mummy t-shirt, a race bib with a custom number, and a Spooky Sprint metal.

Sunday, October 30

Morgantown Running Halloween Half Marathon 13/1 + Kids Marathon 

Run into Halloween at the Morgantown Running Halloween Half Marathon 13.1 + Kids Mini Marathon. The terrain is straight, flat, and fast so try to beat, or set, your personal record. There are awards for first through third places both for males and females, depending on age group. Awards can be viewed here.
