The season has already started for the West Virginia Black Bears, but don’t worry – there are plenty of games for you to attend from now until September!

Stop by during Main Street Morgantown’s June Arts Walk, when downtown businesses collaborate with Morgantown Pride to bring you a fun evening of art, crafts, music, drinks and treats!

Hill training, specificallly for downhill running, is a must if you’re thinking of running in the Deckers Creek Trail Half Marathon, which follows a long, gradual and mostly downhill descent of roughly 800 feet from the starting line just outside Mastown, W.V., to the finish line at the riverfront in downtown Morgantown.

Colonial Kid’s Day focuses on 18th century life through a child’s eyes. Bring the kids to the fort to experience a full day of fun and educational activities. Activities will include daily chores in the fort, life in the militia, colonial children’s games and a craft in the Visitor Center.

A special celebration of West Virginia’s birthday is in Downtown Morgantown. Main Street Morgantown with cooperation and assistance from the City of Morgantown, the Monongalia County Commission, and West Virginia University, will host the family-friendly street festival in honor of the Mountain State’s 157th birthday.

Head to Prickets Fort State Park for an Independence Day Celebration. A reading of the Declaration of Independence will take place at 12-noon. Come out and hear the reading of one of the greatest documents ever written, second only to the United States Constitution. Regular admission applies. Half price admission for all US Veterans and active military.

Come join for the July 4th Road Race. Registration opens in March. The four-mile course will begin on the trail behind Morgantown Running going towards Star City. The 4 mile race starts at 8:30 am, kids 1 mile race begins at 9:30 am.

Head to the New Deal Festival on July 11 and enjoy the antique car, truck, and tractor show, craft market, delicious homemade food, kids activities, horse drawn carriage ride, hay rides, museum tours, artisan demonstrators, book signings by WV authors, a visit from Eleanor Roosevelt and much more.

The 33rd Annual MedExpress Kids Day will occur Saturday, July 18th starting at 10 a.m. in downtown Morgantown. Kids will have the opportunity to play games and enjoy a sandbox, make crafts, learn about safety, and receive free items from businesses in the area.

The Dirt Rag Dirt Fest is the premiere mountain bike festivals in the East! Be part of the Dirt Fest Tribe! This event is all-inclusive and everyone is welcome. Join us for three days starting July 17 and be part of one thing, we can all agree upon, bikes are fun

Escape the daily grind and head toward adventure at Ragnar trail Appalachians on July 31-August 1. Teams of 8 come together for an overnight relay with trails fit for any level of runner at Big Bear Lake, a truly magical location that will have you asking “Did we just travel back in time?”

Love country music? Then you will want to head to the 4th Annual Preston County Music and Arts Festival taking place in Kingwood on August 1 at 1 p.m.

The Mon County Fair will be held August 10th to August 15th at Mylan Park. The cost is an all-inclusive price of $10.

The 8th Annual West Virginia Tattoo Expo will be held August 23rd through 25th at the Morgantown Event Center.

Join us at the Wild & Wonderful Country Fest for some moonshine sippin’, front porch pickin’, good times! This two-day event takes place August 21-22 at Mylan Park in Morgantown.
