Welcome the holiday season by seeing the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra’s (WVSO) “Home for the Holidays” concert on Friday, December 4, at 7:30 p.m. at the WVU Creative Arts Center (CAC). The concert features Randall Reid-Smith, tenor and the Morgantown Children’s Chorus.
The premier performing arts organization of West Virginia presents classical, pops, family and chamber-music concerts annually throughout the Mountain State.
Currently in its 76th season the WVSO provides affordable, high-quality, enriching concerts and collaborations with West Virginia art organizations and a nationally award-winning education program.

Join 14,000 Mountaineer Basketball fans at the Coliseum on Saturday, December 5, to cheer on the WVU Mountaineer Men’s Basketball team as they take on the Kennesaw State Owls! Tip-off is at 12:30 p.m.

Greater Morgantown is kicking-off it’s first ever restaurant week with the “Morgantown Culinary Crawl” on Saturday, December 5, at 3 p.m. Tickets can be purchased for $35 in advance at MorgantownEats.com or $40 the day of the event, pending availability. Participants will be taken on a guided tour of the main street eateries where they can sip and sample select menu items. All event proceeds benefit our community art museum, the Monongalia Arts Center.
From Saturday, December 5 through Saturday, December 12, Morgantown will be hosting its first Restaurant Week. Throughout the week, over 15 participating restaurants on High St., Chestnut St., Pleasant St., and the Wharf District will be providing great menus at reduced prices.
Support the WVU School of Physical Therapy Class of 2017 by participating in their 2nd Annual Ugly Sweater 5k Run/Walk on Sunday, December 7 at the WVU Rec Center. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the race begins at 10 a.m.
Participants are encouraged to create the ugliest sweater possible and wear it on race day! Prizes will be awarded to the overall ugliest sweater, 1st place overall female runner, 1st place overall male runner and winners of designated age groups.
Pre-register for the race HERE. All proceeds will benefit the professional development of the Class of 2017. In the spirit of giving, participants are encouraged to donate canned food items for local Morgantown food banks.
