This weekend in Morgantown offers holiday celebrations, West Virginia University sporting events and musical concerts!

Start the weekend off on Friday, November 13, with a wine and cheese welcome reception from 5-8 p.m. at “Deck The Halls Plus Arts and Crafts Show,” a holiday celebration event at the Arthurdale Museum Complex in Preston County. Attendees will be able to preview the arts and crafts that are for sale. Bring the family on Saturday, November 14, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. for a full day of family fun with one of Santa’s Elves! Children’s activities will be set up inside. hay rides and a farm animal zoo will be outside, weather permitting. Shop the annual Christmas wreath and craft showcase for a great head start on holiday gift shopping. All items are available for purchase and the proceeds support the Arthurdale Heritage Inc.

Cheer on the Mountaineers at the first home Basketball game of the season and a Big 12 Conference Football game!

Friday, November 13, the Mountaineers Men’s Basketball team will play against the Northern Kentucky Norse. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. at the WVU Coliseum. Cheer on the team who advanced to the “Sweet Sixteen” in the NCAA Division 1 College Basketball Tournament in the 2015 season.

Saturday, November 14, the WVU Mountaineers take on the Texas Longhorns at Mountaineer Field in Milan Puskar Stadium. Kick-off time has not yet been determined. Check back HERE for more information.

Friday, November 13, at 8 p.m. Schmitt’s Saloon will be hosting country duo and writers of recent chart-topping Keith Urban and Tim McGraw songs, LoCash, as well as, country music artist and contestant on season three of “The Voice,” Wyatt Turner on Saturday, November 14, at 8 p.m. 123 Pleasant Street is hosting grunge band Goodwolf on Friday, November 13, at 10 p.m. and psych-rock/noise-pop/art-rock band The Furr on Saturday, November 14, at 10 p.m.

Round out this action packed weekend with Morgantown Mall’s ‘Magical Night of Giving” event on Sunday, November 15, from 6-9 p.m. at the Morgantown Mall! Purchase a ticket from a local non-profit organization to take advantage of exclusive one-night only specials at mall stores. You will also be entered into prize drawings such as mall shopping sprees worth $1,500, $2,500 and $5,000 dollars!

Want to be entered to win a flat-screen TV donated by Sears? For every five non-perishable food items donated on Saturday, November 14, from 10 a.m.-9p.m. and Sunday, November 15, from Noon-6 p.m., you will receive one entry to win! The winner will be announced during the “Magical Night of Giving” event and must be present to claim the prize. Donations can be turned in at the designated table next to Garfield’s restaurant

Local non-profits, churches and schools are eligible to sell tickets to the “Magical Night of Giving.” Participating groups keep 100% of the proceeds. In celebration of the malls 25th anniversary, the top three groups to sell the most tickets will receive an additional cash prize, $3,000 for first place, $2,000 for second place and $1,000 for third place!
