Whether you’ve decorated your house with seasonal decor, you’re getting ready to carve pumpkins, or you’ve been planning your costume since last year, Halloween is a fun holiday the entire family can get involved in…even your pets!

You don’t have to go bobbing for apples to make plans this year (unless you want to of course!) Grab your friends, the kids and the rest of the family, and get ready to “out-scare” the rest!

The Pumpkin Farm at Saltwell

Pick your pumpkin from the Pumpkin Farm at Saltwell in Bridgeport, WV. The Pumpkin Farm provides visitors with a farm experience while they purchase their autumn and harvest produce. Check out their Facebook page for more information and directions.

Don’t be afraid of the dark! Swing through 18-holes of indoor miniature golf, decorated with blacklights and glow-in-the-dark Halloween fun. Appalachian Miniature Golf is located at the Morgantown Mall, offering discounts for military, veterans, first responders and senior citizens.

Scarecrow Spectacular

Beginning on October 9th, we will have an installation of scarecrows by local non-profit organizations all around the site. Enjoy the creativity of area organizations and learn a little about all they do to keep this community running. Be sure to find them all and vote on your favorite!

Reversed Trunk Bash

All superheroes, princesses, and pirates are welcome to join us for a great time in The Ridge parking lot! It’s simple—children in costumes will stay at their vehicles to collect candy. NO REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.

Boo at the Zoo

It’s time for Boo at the Zoo!! Wear your best costumes and trick-or-treat through the zoo with us and our furry friends! Our staff will be dressed up and spread out along the walkways in the zoo passing out candy! While you trick-or-treat you can visit and feed the animals!

Fall Family Fun Kit Distribution

Head to the West Virginia Botanic Gardens to pick up a Fall Family Fun Kits will contain activities, items for kids to play and get creative with, and fall-themed craft and snack ideas. The kits will be free and available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Halloween Children’s Art Exhibit

Arthurdale Heritage, INC. will be hosting an exhibit of children’s art in Center Hall! Drop off your child’s masterpiece at our Craft Shop by 10/23 to participate. Then, come and visit Arthurdale Heritage between 10/26 and 11/6 to see the works of art on display. Find more information on Facebook.

Halloween Parade and Movies Among the Mountains

The Aquatic Center at Mylan Park will host a social distanced Halloween event on the track. This event will include a costume parade and a free movie. Come dressed in your Halloween best and we will begin the parade at 4pm. The movie is TBD and will be announced on Tuesday October 6th. Go to our Facebook page to vote on movie selection. Event is sponsored by Mon Health in partnership with Mylan Park.

Tricks, Treats, and Trails

Celebrate Halloween with PCPaRC! Beginning at the WV Northern Rail-Trail Gateway across from the Craig Civic Center, make your way towards Sisler Street, picking up candy along the way. But watch out! There are some spooky sights along the trail waiting to scare you! If you’re able to make it to the end, festive mini-games and food trucks are waiting for you at Sisler Street.

Fall Photo Frenzy: A Photo Scavenger Hunt Competition!Tricks, Treats, and Trails

You and your team will have a blast following photo scavenger hunt clues around Morgantown and competing for amazing prizes including: 4 day passes/rental packages to Gritstone Climbing & Fitness, gift cards for Mountain State Brewing Company and Iron Horse Tavern, a photography mini-session, and more!

Morgantown Mall Candy Crawl Drive Through

The Candy Crawl Drive Thru offers a fun, safe place for local families to enjoy a Halloween themed event. Morgantown Mall will host a Drive Thru version of our traditional Candy Crawl this year. Morgantown Mall is excited to host this festive gathering, on Saturday, October 24 from 2-5 PM located in front of JCPenney.

Spooky Spring Virtual 5K Run/Walk

The United Way of Monongalia and Preston Counties Emerging Leaders will host the Spooky Sprint Virtual 5K Run/Walk in October! The event is sponsored by WVU Medicine! Register online by Oct. 10, 2020.

Trunk or Treat at Camp Mountaineer

Come out to Camp Mountaineer for the Mountaineer Area Council Boy Scouts of America’s annual Trunk or Treat! Wear a mask and socially distant while enjoying the outdoors and eating candy! This event is free to the public and runs from 2pm – 4pm.

Elks Lodge 411 Trunk or Treat

Trunk or Treat at the Elks 411 Lodge offers children as a safe way to celebrate Halloween. Trunk or Treat, weather permitting, will be in the parking lot. If necessary, we will move the event indoors and offer a safe, socially-distanced path around the ballroom with separate entrances and exits.

Looking for a FAST fall half marathon? Join us on October 31st. It will be timed and might just boost you to your next PR!
