A Halloween Wargame

Stop by the Aull Center on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 1 PM to participate in/watch a Halloween-themed historical wargame as part of Haunted History Month! The wargame will be based on the 1776 Battle of White Plains during the American War for Independence, at which the Headless Horseman supposedly lost his head.

All families are welcome to the Ridge Kids Trunk Bash! There will be trunk-or-treating, food trucks, games, pumpkin decorating, and more. This fun event is open to everyone!

Boo at the Zoo

It’s time to get your costumes ready for Boo at the Zoo! Visit Hovatter’s Wildlife Zoo October 18th, 19th, and 20th from 2-6pm! That’s right, 3 days of trick-or-treating through the zoo with animals! They will be passing out TONS of candy and, of course, all of your favorite snacks will be for sale!

Howling Halloween

Hop into your costumes (not required) and bring your kids and yourselves out to Chestnut Ridge Park and Campground (CRPC) for trick-or-treating, hayride, a craft, and games! Volunteers and CRPC staff will be decorating the grounds and inside select buildings, and handing out candy along with a Haunted Trail within the park. This event is free; however, donations of food items, toiletries, school supplies, or other items for the Pantry Plus More program are appreciated.

The Arcade of Horrors

Starport Arcade and Pub Presents: The Arcade of Horrors! A Nightmare on Elm Street with Mr. Freddy Krueger. The bar/Arcade will be SPOOKified & themed for the whole month of October. On this day, there will be a free showing of the movie, movie theater style, on a large projection screen. There will be free popcorn and goody bags, as well as horror themed cocktails guests can buy. Let’s get SPOOKY!

Terror on the Tygart Haunted Hayride

The TLSP Foundation is hosting their Annual Haunted Hayride-Terror on the Tygart. There are only two evenings to enjoy this hayride! Bring the family over on Friday, Oct 25 and Saturday, October 26 from 6:30 pm to 9 pm. The cost is $2 per person and guests may board the hayride at the Park Office.

Whooo let the dogs out? Dog trick or treat night. Vendors will set up along the Reservoir Loop Trail and hand out dog treats. Contest and prize(s) for best-dressed pooch.
