When Mae’s scornful roommate falls ill, she calls upon their eloquent neighbor in order to help with a diagnosis. An ensuing love-hate triangle leaves Mae desperately wanting an escape from the toxic environment. Fornes’ creation leaves the idea that self-improvement is the ultimate goal but everyday life will always be impossible to escape in the end.
