Mountain State Maple Days

February 19, 2022 at Variety of Times

Ends: March 19, 2022

On Saturday, Feb. 19 and Saturday, March 19, “sugar shacks” throughout West Virginia, including in Mountaineer Country, will be celebrating the Fifth Annual Mountain State Maple Days as a means of bringing attention to one of our state’s fastest growing and sweetest industries, maple syrup. During this celebration, maple syrup producers open their establishments to the public to see the ins and outs of maple syrup making and, of course, try some sweet treats. Not to mention, many businesses partake in the festivities and show their support for the industry as well.

Join WVMSPA in celebrating this West Virginia Grown product at a variety of local shops, restaurants, and other organizations orentities to peruse a collaborative display, or sample a maple syrup-inspired menu, watch a cooking demonstration, educational set up, and more.

Below are a few maple syrup producers who call Mountaineer Country home and are worth paying a visit:

  • Heasley Homestead – Offering official tours of the sugar bush, scavenger hunts, sap and syrup density monitoring, and various maple syrup and candy samples.
  • Gray Farms – Enjoy Maple syrup as well as flavor-infused maple syrup while you walk through their beautiful farm.
