Jingle Bell Sale at Old Stone House Victoria Leland Giving Program
Old Stone House Jingle Bell Sale begins; hats and gloves help keep warm those in need. The Service League of Morgantown announced their annual Jingle Bell Sale at the Old Stone House. Customers can choose a jingle bell to receive 10-30 percent off their total purchase.
The sale runs Friday, December 2 through Sunday, December 4. The Old Stone House will be open from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon until 4 p.m. Sunday.
The Old Stone House is also open Thursday, December 1 from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. with 10 percent of all sales this week will be shared with Monongalia County Meals on Wheels.
The Service League has also partnered with Young’s Inc. for their Victoria Leland Giving Project, an initiative that provides items of comfort and warmth to people in need. The Service League purchased knit items from Victoria Leland Designs, a wholesale fashion company, to add to their retail stock, and received free, warm, woolen scarves to distribute to those in need. The League partnered with Pantry Plus More to distribute the donated items.
The mission of The Giving Project is to help shops make a small contribution that can lead to a big impact in their respective communities.
Founded in 1935, Service League of Morgantown’s mission has been to give back to their local community to improve the lives of local citizens through charitable, educational and cultural activities. In its 86 years of existence, the league has contributed more than $421,692 back to the Morgantown community. This includes over $26,000 to the Morgantown Public Library, approximately $82,537 toward books for Mon County School libraries, and more than $313,155 to other charitable donations throughout Monongalia County. The Old Stone House was built around 1795 and is the oldest stone dwelling in the county. It is listed on the National Historic Registry.
