14th Annual West Virginia Chestnut Festival!

The Chestnut Festival is back again, and celebrating all day long to celebrate the great American chestnut tree and the Science of Restoration! Enjoy a day full of live music, art and craft vendors, and events. Gala Banquet tickets will be available at the Welcome Table in the Rowlesburg Community Park. Rowlesburg, West Virginia is known best for its festivals, Civil War and railroad history, outdoor activities, and antiques. The annual Chestnut Festival is one of Rowlesburg’s many popular festivals hosted annually!

Events at Scenic Rowlesburg Park and Welcoming Table from 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. include…

Roasted chestnuts, chestnut tree seedlings for sale, honey products, chestnut furniture by Charles & Randall Wotring, art and craft vendors, ox-roast sandwiches at the concession stand, music in the park, and avian conservation center of Appalachia: bird exhibit!

Visit the Historic Rowlesburg School Szilagyi Center

Take a food break with River City Cafe luncheon and desserts before checking out the River City Emporium, quilt room, and River City art room! Take a stroll through time and enjoy the World War II Museum, Preston County Sports Museum, and Historic B & O Centenary bridge exhibit. From 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., there will be events on the second floor as well.

Rowlesburg Community Park from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Gala Banquet from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Located at the Historic Rowlesburg School Szilagyi Center Auditorium

Events include welcome and introduction of distinguished guests, 14th annual crowning royalty “Mr. and Mrs. Chestnut”, Chestnut-Vino Novello ritual, dinner, and keynote speaker with music from pianist, Deborah Westbrook!
