Monongalia County Courthouse Plaza

In the Courtyard Plaza of the Monongalia Country Courthouse, you will find several public art pieces. The Courtyard is decorated with memorial plaques along with a glass outline of the Monongahela River. This Plaza is accessible to the public and features the area’s history, natural beauty, along with a restored historic fountain. The Courtyard Plaza was an idea from the Monongalia County Commission which wanted to improve the existing square. It was planned by the Mills Group, which is a WV native architecture, planning, and preservation firm, and rededicated in May 2018 after approval in 2016.
