7 Reasons Why Your Dog Wants to Visit Mountaineer Country
Pet-Friendly Places for You and Your Dog to Enjoy
Want to plan a trip this summer, but don’t want to leave your dog at home? Bring your dog along with you and visit these dog-friendly places around Mountaineer Country!
Restaurants, Cafes, & Bars
Mountaineer Country is filled with dog-friendly restaurants. Visit restaurants such as Black Bear Burritos on the Evansdale campus that welcomes dogs and their owners with outdoor seating. The Greeks, Oliverio’s Ristorante, Panera Bread, River Birch Cafe and Terra Cafe also allow dogs in their outdoor seating areas.
Stop by The Grind for your morning coffee with your dog and enjoy sitting either outside or inside the coffee shop. For a night out, take your dog to Mountain State Brewing Company, Tropics, or Table 9 for a relaxing evening at their outdoor seating areas.
Have a sweet tooth? Cold Stone Creamery has outdoor seating that is perfect for a day out with your pup, or visit Dairy Queen and give your dog a sweet treat of vanilla soft serve ice cream!
Parks
Not only are there multiple parks throughout Mountaineer Country such as Rowlesburg Park or Jack Roberts Park, there are also dog parks for your best friend to play with other dogs. Krepps Park has a forest-like terrain and offers complementary doggie bags. There are also areas for both small or large dogs, benches, drinking water, and even a pool for dog owners and families. Or try Stanley’s Spot Dog Park, Morgantown’s original dog park, near Decker’s Creek Trail.
Pet Shops
Spoil your pup with a new toy at one of Mountaineer Country’s pet shops, such as Petco, PetValu, and Exotic Jungle Pet Supply. Woofs is also a pet shop that offers upscale and holistic food items, pet supplies, gifts, and even has a whimsical clothing boutique.
Dog Salons
Treat your dog to a new haircut or nail trimming at one of the pet salons in Mountaineer Country, such as Paradise Pets Grooming or Pampered 4 Paws. Mark Jones Grooming, TLC Dog Grooming Services, Divine Canine, Talk to the Paw, and Fur Babies, LLC also offer grooming services.
